Cozyca - Violet & Claire Memo Pad

Violet & Claire was started by Sumire Taya, a writer, illustrator and DJ. Sumire is actively involved in many fields but Violet & Claire is a label and apparel and record shop she started along with forming the DJ group Twee Grrrls Club. She is a proponent for women in the music industry and she talks a lot about the underrepresentation of women as DJs and in the music industry at large. We love her graphic style illustrations, frequent motifs of which include cats and donuts since she is an illustrator for Donuts Magazine and Cat’s Issue shop. These memo blocks feature Sumire Taya’s adorable illustrations of delectable desserts and cozy cats.

Cozyca wasstartedin 2013 by the well-established stationery company, Hyogensha, which had been founded in 1948. Cozyca was launchedto promote the works of independent artists and inspire writers by making available beautiful stationery that depicts the view from different artists’ worlds. Cozyca also has a store in Kyoto called Hiraeth that displays all the artist collaboration stationery designs they produce as well as exhibits different artists’ works in their gallery on the top floor. We would love to visit their adorable shop and gallery one day!
